Meridia (sibutramine HCl monohydrate) has been developed
by Abbott Laboratories under two different brand names: Meridia®
in the USA, and Reductil®
in Europe. The active ingredient in both Meridia and Reductil
is Sibutramine.
 These
two medications are identical weight loss drugs under two
different brand names, designed for two different trademarket.
Since it is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance
in the United States, you cannot buy Meridia online in the
USA.
It has been sold under brand name of Reductil® worldwide.
There are also several manufacturers that offer generic
Meridia.
Meridia (Sibutramine) is prescribed for weight loss along
with a reduced-calorie diet and, if appropriate, an exercise
program. It is used to control hunger by acting on appetite
control centers in the brain.
